Global City is a building and construction simulation game. Acting as the Mayor of a city that needs help with growth, the player must approve and complete a wide range of construction projects with the help of an intermediary, Diane, a construction expert and assistant, Alice, and other characters who have infrastructure-based professional roles.�
The game offers the player an opportunity to learn a lot about city building and construction and related projects and careers. It explains the purpose of most actions, the importance of rules and regulations, and the impact of building in areas specifically designated for residents, businesses, factories, visitors and the public.
The player's projects involve all aspects of construction, planning and growth. For example, they might receive a task to install or upgrade residential properties, roads and utility structures. They often need to invest in and upgrade construction and production equipment. To complete an upgrade, they need raw materials and products, such as sand, cement or bricks, that they can only retrieve or produce by opening up and improving sites like a quarry, and building and running factories.
The player also takes on important projects in other city locations, such as the port. If they uncover previous human settlements while harvesting raw materials, they even perform archaeological expeditions.
Global City gives the player money for each completed task, which they use to invest in more projects. They also receive money via daily rewards and can look for local gold deposits as a project.
