Emoji Match is a connect-style, logic-puzzle game that features 73 levels across 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6 grid boards. The player's goal is to connect emojis that share similar traits on each board. They draw a line from one emoji to its match across the empty spaces.
The player makes the connections based on real-world connections between the emoji objects. For example, they might connect sunglasses to a sun, a dog to a bone, a virus cell to a masked smiley face, a diamond to an engagement ring, a fire truck to a flame, a rabbit to a carrot, a corn cob to a popcorn bucket, a bee to a honey pot, a map to a compass, a hospital to an ambulance, a knife to a loaf of bread, a battery to a flashlight, or a letter to a mailbox.
Emoji Match offers a hint button marked with a magnifier that automatically shows a match with a line connecting two objects. Unlike similar games like Emoji Flow, the player can't pick any level to play. They must unlock each one by completing the smallest board puzzles first. They must also connect the objects with lines that don't cross. If they make a mistake, they can reset a level using a reset button labeled with two curved arrows.
