Don't Tap is a click-tap game similar to Piano Tiles or Don't Tap the White Tile. The game offers six play modes (Classic, Arcade, Zen, Rush, Relay and Arcade+). It displays these modes on black and white tiles on the home screen.
The player's objective is to select black tiles that appear on the screen as quickly as possible. They also enjoy piano music created by interacting with the game.
All modes feature a vertical grid of white tiles interrupted intermittently with black ones. Yet, they differ slightly. For example, in Classic mode, the player must reach the end of the level with the fastest possible time. They can then replay to try to beat their last-best time.
In Arcade mode, the player attempts to play as long as possible and earn the highest score while the game increases the rate at which each black tile appears among the white tiles. In Zen mode, they must reach or beat their best score within 30 seconds. With Rush Mode, they must earn their best score based on the number of black tiles they select per second. In Relay mode, they attempt to select as many black tiles as possible within 10 seconds.
Don't Tap rewards the player with a congratulatory screen when they perform well. It also makes play fun by varying the piano music in each mode. As a result, the player can learn and enjoy new music when they replay a mode.
If the player fails to match or beat their last time or score, the game typically prompts them to try again or take a break.
