Cut the Rope 2: Om Nom's Unexpected Adventure is the next logic-puzzle game in the series. Although the adorable Om Nom prefers to stay home inside his boxes, eating his favorite swirly hard candy, a group of spiders has stolen his candy using a mini hot air balloon! After chasing them, Om Nom becomes stuck outdoors in a forest. The player helps him explore the world, eat candy, and find his way home.
The player initially receives thousands of free coins to buy custom hats, new types of candies, traces for cut lines, hints and power-ups (bombs, teleporters and balloons). Their main goal, across hundreds of levels on a winding path marked with blue, twist-wrapped hard candies, is to use physics and other types of knowledge and abilities to cut ropes attached to candies in the exact necessary ways to allow each one to fall perfectly through floating stars and into Om Nom's open mouth.
Cut the Rope 2 provides a wide range of obstacles. The player must deal with multiple lengths and numbers of ropes, hanging wood beam platforms, candy magnets and balloons that can make a candy change directions or float, whoopie cushions that blow a candy in different directions, sticky tongue animals, rolling wooden discs and red push buttons. That said, Om Nom has Nommie allies to help, including anthropomorphic bouncy springs and a blue square character that can duplicate itself to create vertical tiers.
Along the path on the map, the player discovers treasure chests filled with coins and powerups, cartoons that earn them extra coins, and fun side engagements.
