Tile Guru: Match Fun is a tile-matching game with a match-3 element. It features a fantasy pastoral theme and an NPC fairy girl providing in-game instructions. The playfield consists of a gradient orange background.
The game displays layers of round-cornered, square white tiles on the field. In the initial levels, the tiles feature different types of fruits, insects and leaves. Unlike many similar games, Tile Guru doesn't require the player to select tiles that have a free left or right side. Instead, the player can select any tile that's not covered by other tiles.
The player must remove the tile layers, three at a time, via a blue horizontal tray below the field. The tray contains seven empty spaces. Each time the player selects a tile, the game automatically transfers it to the tray. The player selects tiles to match three identical ones. After those tiles disappear from the tray, they make additional selections.
If the player runs out of room to match tiles, the game prompts them to use coins they earn during play to return three random tiles from the tray back on the playfield. They can then try again. If the player does well, they receive stars in addition to the coins.
Tile Guru: Match Fun also offers an undo button. That said, the game only provides one free return or undo. The player must use their coins to buy new ones. The good news is that they receive unlimited lives. If necessary, they can also simply quit a turn and start over.
