Streetrace Fury is a racing game in which the player competes against an AI in single drag race and tournament modes. The player tries to make it to the finish line first on empty city streets with their racecar.
That said, if they don't reach the black-and-white checkered area in the first position, it's okay! They still earn money that they can use to upgrade their vehicle until it's fast enough to beat any contender.
The player receives a small blue hatchback base car and $250 in coins to perform some initial upgrades. They can change the body color, the tire thickness, the rims and hubcaps, and add a neon underglow color. They can also upgrade the engine, speed, friction and other areas, including adding nitro.
Streetrace Fury requires the player to use an onscreen pedal to keep the engine revved enough that the tachometer arm hovers on a green spot until the red lights count down. Once they start out with enough speed, they must shift using the handle marked with a green arrow and then speed up by using the tachometer.
If the player manages to time everything perfectly, they make it to the finish line first. If not, they go back to the garage and perform upgrades with their new coins. Eventually, the player can upgrade to other makes and models of vehicles as well.
