Spaces Solitaire is a Patience card game similar to Gaps or Montana Solitaire. In either Random or Hard mode, the player attempts to rearrange a full deck of face-up cards across four horizontal rows in a standard ascending left-to-right sequence from Ace to King by suit. They also attempt to earn the most coins possible in the upper-left corner and all three stars for the game on a vertical timer bar on the right side of the table.
The player can only move cards around by placing the next card in sequence by suit in an empty space to the right of a card of one lower value. For example, if an 8 of Spades has an empty space to the right of it, the player can only fill that space with a 9 of the same suit.
Space Solitaire makes play difficult by preventing the player from placing any card other than an Ace into an empty space to the right of a King. As a result, the player must either move the Kings as quickly as possible to the far right end spaces or use the Aces after the Kings until they can move the Kings to the ends.
That said, if the player becomes stuck with all Kings in the middle with no more empty spaces remaining next to other cards, they can use the shuffle and switch buttons to make space available in other areas. The game provides them with two free uses for each option. Afterward, they must watch ads to continue to use the tools. The player can also use a hint button up to six times free to help them make decisions.
