Rope Slit, also known as Rope Slash, is a physics-based logic-puzzle game that features mechanics similar to the play in the Cut the Rope series. That said, when the player completes a level, they don't receive an achievement award or money. Instead, a smiley face emoji and a burst of floating stars appear onscreen with a banner that has "awesome" written across it.
The player must cut one or more ropes attached to a ball or balls to knock over cans stacked on floating platforms. The type of ball varies by level and includes a soccer ball, a beach ball, a yarn ball, an eight ball and a softball. The game also features ball-shaped objects, such as a ladybug and a watermelon.
Obstacles include rotating surfaces, platforms set at various angles, and cans stacked in difficult-to-reach spots. Additionally, a ball might have multiple ropes attached to it, which means the player needs to determine the correct rope to cut first to guarantee that the ball swings from the second rope the correct way to complete the task. The player doesn't need to cut every rope to win. They merely need to knock over all the cans.
Rope Slash doesn't penalize failures beyond requiring the player to use the reload button marked with a semicircular arrow to restart a level.
