Paint Sponges Puzzle is a relaxing logic-puzzle game with a sliding-tile element. The player must direct the movement of a square paint sponge along lines made of empty square spaces inside a white frame held in place by four metal screws. Each movement of the sponge tile leaves behind a swath of paint that matches the color of the sponge. The tile also leaks droplets of paint, but it doesn't leave behind any marks except within the lines.
The game features 90 levels. The player must complete their work with the sponge on one level to unlock the next one. The game doesn't initially restrict the movement of the sponge. As a result, the player can direct the sponge back over previously painted lines to complete their work.
The option to repaint is important because the player can't stop the sponge mid-line. They can only paint from one wall of the frame to another. The player also can't paint with a continuous line. They must release the sponge after they slide it between walls.
Paint Sponges Puzzle isn't a complicated game. Instead, it's designed to make the player feel relaxed through music, a swiping sound and the repetitive movements they make with the sponge.
