Off Road Auto Trial is a driving game based on real-world physics that tests a player's ability to maneuver an all-terrain or other vehicle across a harsh landscape. The game features three environments (Arctic, Coastal and Desert) with 15 levels per location. The player also attempts to collect three stars per level (45 stars per landscape).
The player starts with the base vehicle or visits the garage to purchase an upgrade. The motor vehicles have different advantages in terms of influencers on driving performance, such as braking, control and weight. The player earns the coins they need to purchase one when they complete a level of the game.
Once the player is ready to play, they face strips of land that feature unique challenges and steep drops into the air or ocean. The frigid, slippery snow-covered ice shelf and floes of the Arctic environment move up and down in the cold, nearby waters. The windswept grassy cliffs of the Coastal environment feature moving stones and boulders, fallen trees and logs that the player must drive around or over without becoming stuck. The hot, dry, sunlit desert offers up columns of red rocks, misshapen boulders, deadwood trees, flowering saguaro cacti and eye-tricking shadows that the player must navigate successfully.
In each environment, the player can collect up to three golden stars before reaching a finish line by driving through each star. If they fail and crash or drive off an edge, Off Road Auto Trial provides them with an infinite reload button.
