Merge & Construct is a racing game with merge and vehicle construction elements. The player creates experimental vehicles using box, wheel and fan parts. They improve each one by merging pairs of identical parts. For example, they might merge two wheels to create double wheels on axles or two small wooden fan blades to create a single larger one made of both metal and wood.
The player must direct their creations on hilly racecourses filled with obstacles, including steep inclines and dips, speed bumps, crates, log bridges and walls, and piles of gray rocks. A horizontal bar above the course displays their position during each race.
If the player races too quickly, they risk the vehicle flipping forward too hard or landing roughly after flying across a gap and then breaking apart. The vehicle also fails to follow real-world physics during deceleration. It stops almost immediately when the player isn't pressing the acceleration option. If the player isn't careful with the controls, it can stop moving entirely while on top of a speed bump or fail to have enough speed and momentum to go up a hill.
Merge & Construct supplies floating coins on the racecourse. It also offers ad-supported free coins and multipliers. The player uses this money to buy new parts.
