Home Pin 2 is the second installment of the Home Pin pull-the-pin, logic-puzzle series. That said, it doesn't continue the story of the couple from the first game. Instead, it follows a wife abandoned by her cheating husband and surviving on the streets with a baby. The player must use their scientific knowledge, strategic decision-making, and other skills to help the woman and child survive a harsh winter and create a warm, loving home.�
In each setting where the player finds the woman and child, they must pull one or more pins inside of containers with chutes and complete other actions to help the characters retrieve useful items. For example, they might pull pins to release gold coins or moneybags, winter clothing (i.e., coats, boots, scarves, mittens, hats and earmuffs), firewood and matches, or food stuck above the pins. If they're savvy, they can collect a key to unlock the door to an old home that they then remodel for the small family. They might also need to destroy black bombs, thwart thieves and work around different obstacles placed between survival necessities and the characters. They sometimes gather puzzle pieces to perform renovations.�
Home Pin 2 allows the player to use their saved coins in various ways. They can buy extra clothing options and unlock different styles of pins using a button marked with a jacket on the main screen. With a furniture button, they can perform additional home upgrades.�
