Grandma Recipe: Ramen is a cooking and dress-up game that continues the study of Japanese food and culture seen in the similarly titled Grandma Recipe: Nigiri Sushi game. A girl named Aiko wants to make ramen for the first time. She loves her grandma's recipe and texts her for assistance. The player helps Aiko complete the recipe and then pick out a costume, plate the food for presentation, and share a photo with her grandmother.
The game features six total levels that the player must complete to perform these tasks. For example, via text message, Aiko's grandma walks her and the player through finding all the ingredients and tools that they need to make ramen in the kitchen. The player must select the items quickly before they run out of time on a green horizontal bar timer marked with three gold stars near the upper-left corner of the screen. With the other levels, the player simply follows the on-screen prompts to complete each action.
Grandma Recipe: Ramen also offers achievement rewards. The achievements include collecting all tools, chopping all vegetables, completing the request, preparing, cooking and presenting various food items (i.e., searing the pork brown, making delicious broth perfectly, arranging the ramen components and decorating the ramen), trying on all costumes, adding emoji stickers to pictures and receiving three stars.
