ASMR: Stye Treatment is a career simulation and makeover game. The player pretends that they're a treatment specialist at an ASMR clinic that focuses on helping to relax people via soothing sensations and sounds. The clinic also specializes in providing a full makeover that includes treatment of bacterial eyelid infections (styes), pimples, and other facial health and beauty problems.
The game starts by presenting the player with a YouTube channel showing a live facial treatment session. These types of channels and presentations often include pimple popping, which some people find soothing.
An upset young woman has come to the clinic with a lot of different problems, including oily skin, pimples, vellus hair, mole hairs, old, stuck-on makeup and false eyelashes, red eyes, and even hard-to-remove contact lenses. The player performs onscreen treatment actions shortly after the off-screen removal of oils and dirt with a gentle cleanser.
The player receives achievement rewards for performing various tasks, such as popping pimples, plucking mole hairs, lasering off face moles, and removing makeup. After treatment, the clinic supplies the patient with a brand new look.
ASMR: Stye Treatment provides a range of hair styles and colors, tops and outfits, and makeup options. The player can manually select items or use a die from a pair of dice to randomly select ones. If they choose manual selection, they must watch videos to access some items.
