Grandma Recipe: Apple Pie is a cooking and dress-up game in which a girl needs the player's help to complete an apple pie recipe while receiving direction via text from her grandmother. The girl loves her grandma's recipe and has never tried baking an apple pie on her own before. She also needs the player's help to decorate the pie, try costumes and pick an emoji sticker to add to photos.
The game has five levels that the player completes by following on-screen prompts via text messages from the girl's grandma and hand icon actions. For example, the girl's grandma sends her a list of ingredients and tools. The player follows the prompts to select all the necessary items spread throughout the girl's kitchen. The player must find everything as quickly as possible because the game tracks the time it takes with a green star-accessorized horizontal bar at the upper-left corner.
As with the other titles in the series, Grandma Recipe: Apple Pie rewards the player whenever they successfully complete a task. They can track these rewards using a white trophy button on the home screen. The achievement milestones include collecting all tools, peeling all granny apples, completing the reader's lesson, cooking the apple pie perfectly, poking holes with a fork, spreading the apple mixture, decorating the pie, trying all costumes, using emoji stickers on pictures, and finishing the entire game. The player should also attempt to collect all three stars on the timer bar in each level.
