Bubble Shooter Gold is a bubble-shooting game played along a path in a moonlit night sky near a mountain range. Each level of the game reveals a playfield in the mountains with hanging rows of colored bubbles. The player's goal is to quickly remove all bubbles before they run out of moves. They achieve this task by hitting two or more identical, connected bubbles with a projectile of the same color.
The game utilizes a ring shooter, but the ring is similar to the golden prongs that hold a diamond in an engagement or wedding ring. Instead of a gem, the prongs grasp a bubble projectile that the player shoots at the rows. Before shooting, if they can't make an easy shot, they can swap the projectile with another that's nearby. They use a targeting line made of tiny, color-coded bubbles to help them make a precise shot. The player wins up to three stars hidden inside bubbles in each level.
Bubble Shooter Gold has boosters. It generates special ones among the rows in different levels, such as bubbles that contain dynamite. Over time, the player also unlocks new boosters, including one that adds an extra projectile next to the shooter. This booster makes it possible for the player to select an alternative color from two extra projectiles instead of one.
The game also features a leaderboard, a daily bonus and treasure chests.
