Balloon Slicer is a casual, balloon-popping game that requires a player to shoot a sharp-edged, rotating projectile skillfully into green containers to slice through balloons. The player starts out with a serrated, circular saw blade. They eventually randomly unlock other items, including a clock, an eyeball and a block of cheese.
The game starts with balloons of different colors and sizes. The player must use a targeting line to fire the projectile. The process is similar to how a player pulls back a cue stick to give it enough force to strike balls on a table in online billiards and pool games. The player must consider both the direction of the shot and the amount of pull they need to launch the blade.
When the player doesn't use a lot of pull, they create a short, dashed line that sends the projectile a short distance. When they use a lot of pull, they create a long line that sends it a long distance. If they perform this move correctly, the projectile enters the container through an opening and slices through balloons and bounces around like a ball against the side walls.
In some levels, the player must shoot the projectile into a portal hole so that it pops into the container via another hole. Some levels also feature green arrows that direct the projectile and increase its speed.
