Stretch Guy is a physics-based strategy puzzle game. The player helps a ragdoll-style character move from a position hanging on a wall to another position in each of the game's 28 levels. The character has stretchable orange arms and legs with white balls for the hands, feet and head.
The player stretches the guy's limbs to move up walls bit by bit until his head overlaps a smiling face made of blue marks affixed to the background. They must take care not to overstretch the character too far, as indicated by a frown that appears on his face, or the arms and legs burst like balloons and leave only the balls behind.
Stretch Guy introduces plenty of obstacles and threats to the character, such as spiked spinning wheels and red barriers. The player needs to perform various tasks to bypass these areas. For example, they might need to stretch the guy beyond a deadly trap or use his ball-shaped hands to flip a lever that retracts the barriers.
That said, the game also offers free wins. For example, sometimes the player doesn't need to do anything. If the character hangs in an area that has an automated wall that slides up and down or side to side, they might only need to wait for the wall to slide the guy into the correct position.
