Rope is a casual logic-puzzle game with drawing and rope elements. It challenges a player to stretch a pink, elastic rope with a handle at the end around pegs across 30 levels without allowing the rope to cross certain spots.
When the player succeeds with this task, the game displays a green arrowhead symbol inside of a green circle as a forward button that unlocks the next level. It also celebrates by dropping blue, green and purple confetti pieces from the top of the screen.
Each level presents the player with multiple double circles that each represent the end of a peg. To win, the player must stretch the rope along the sides of all the pegs without touching blue blocks or other traps. With some levels, they must overlap the rope without looping it around any pegs completely. They might also need to use the rope to force a slider-style peg into a different position.
The player gauges their progress in two ways. The pegs turn tan, and a dark pink horizontal line flows from left to right across the top of the screen. The player knows they've taken the correct action when the line stops completely on the right side. That said, they might need to wait for the stretchy rope to stop moving. Some movements can make the rope briefly touch obstacles and cause the line to slide forward, backward, and forward again rapidly while the rope settles.
Rope doesn't require the player to attach the handle to anything. The player can just drop it after the last peg turns tan.
