Raft Life is a casual simulation game that focuses on the life of a castaway stuck on a wooden raft in the middle of the ocean. A player helps the character build a life on the water by gathering raw materials, expanding the raft, building and crafting items, and fighting predators.
Oddly, the raft features sales stalls with other people who, for whatever reason, never help the castaway leave the raft to return home. Instead, the player starts by directing the character to chop down palm trees for wood that they can exchange for gold coins. They use the coins to reveal new areas of the raft, additional resources and stalls. They even eventually reveal arched wooden bridges to other rafts. The player must defend the raft from attacking sharks and fix any damage.
Raft Life features bonus and upgrade opportunities. Every now and then, the player can acquire additional points by catching a seagull. They also unlock a white-and-red-striped changing area tent to buy new character skins that can make the avatar look differently and increase speed, harvest strength, income and more.
Over time, the player acquires the help of animals that collect and deliver materials. Opportunities also exist to acquire a better axe, a fishing net and other special harvesting tools. In the shops, the player can also use their coins to improve the sale prices of items and the harvest speed.
