Maya Ruins is a logic-puzzle game that requires the player to reconstruct ruins in a jungle setting across 11 levels. The ruins appear as carved circular structures like medallions that display central face masks. The masks represent animals and people, including a domestic cat, a panther and an elephant. One of the sculptures features painted spots.
The game presents a ruin with a central circle surrounded by ringed sections. The player only sees the original image on the home screen. They must turn the misaligned parts to the correct positions dictated by that picture. Every time the player adjusts a stone section correctly, the game rewards them with a burst of confetti. When they finish reconstructing the ruin sculpture, the game displays a green checkmark.
Maya Ruins doesn't have a timer. It plays music in the background that the player can turn off at any time via a stone button marked with two music notes. If the player experiences difficulty remembering the original positions of the parts of a sculpture after they start adjusting the rings, they can reload the level without penalty using a stone button labeled with a reload semi-circular back arrow.
