Matches Puzzle Game 2 is a matchstick-style, brain-test logic-puzzle game. It's sometimes confused with the Matches Puzzle game, which is commonly called Matches Puzzle Game, since it doesn't display the number two anywhere in the title on the home screen. As with the first game, it tasks the player with solving various problems with matchsticks. The player must possess basic geometry and math knowledge and skills.
The player plays across six stages that feature 50 levels per stage, or 300 levels for the entire game. They might need to create shapes from existing shapes and patterns. They might need to balance out a math equation so that all numbers on either side of an equals sign are correct. They might even need to reposition matchsticks in a pattern on the playfield to create a number that completes a text-based math question.
As with Matches Puzzle, the player might face a task that they can solve with multiple solutions. They can only complete a level if they find the right one for that specific puzzle. For example, the game might prompt them to create two squares. They might create one small square within a large one with both squares sharing matches or two equal-sized squares that don't share any matches.
Matches Puzzle 2 provides the player with a specific number of hints after they complete a certain number of levels. They also receive a gift of hints regularly. The player can track the number of hints at the lower-right corner. They can track their progress through a stage at the top center of the screen.
