Black and White Mahjong, sometimes called Mahjong Black and White, is a tile-matching variant of traditional Chinese Mahjong. It's important to note that the game refers to the tiles as stones or tiles.
With this version, the player must remove all tiles arranged in a layered pattern on the playfield before a 20-minute timer runs out of time. They must also achieve the highest possible score. The player performs this task by selecting pairs of matching tiles. That said, unlike the classic game, they must match a black tile with an ivory-white tile.
As a result, they need to match two tiles of different colors that have the same number and type of bamboo, birds, flowers or dots. Season-related tiles are the only exception. With the seasons, they match black and white tiles that display different images from the same category.
Black and White Mahjong provides a hint button to highlight a pair of available tiles and a shuffle button that rearranges the tiles to reveal pairs hidden under previous layers. The player can only select so-called free uncovered tiles unattached to any tiles on either the left or right side.
The player can also change the pattern layouts and background at any time. The game provides them with 53 classic and unique tile patterns and six beautiful backgrounds.
