Knife Blades IO is a battle-arena game similar to popular snake IO games. It features spinning emojis wielding knives instead of snakes. The player's goal is to equip an emoji with the best weaponry and then make it collect additional knives, take out opponents, and survive for two minutes in a battle arena.
The player starts the game with enough coins to buy and upgrade knives. The bank automatically receives new coins. The player performs an upgrade by buying two identical knives and then using merge mechanics on a grid to combine the knives to create a new, more powerful and more deadly one. They then equip their emoji avatar with several of the new type of knife. They can also upgrade the avatar's angry, red face to another type of emoji, such as a mummy, bear or cyclops head.
In Knife Blades IO arena battles, the player must create a spinning barrier between their avatar and the avatars of other online players. They must also direct the avatar to search for additional knives to increase the number of knives and the size of spinning ring and kill other avatars. That said, they must take care not to allow their avatar to touch black-and-yellow-striped objects or avatars with larger rings.
If the player's emoji survives, they win additional coins and a level-up reward. The game also rewards coins for the completion of daily missions, such as playing with friends, watching an advertisement video, merging a knife three times, and playing a battle.
