Geo Dash is a new interpretation of the running-themed Geometry Dash side-scrolling platformer. The player must hone their hand-eye coordination and precision timing skills to help an anthropomorphic geometry shape, a yellow block outlined in glowing white, dash, jump, flip and fly through dozens of levels across five separate worlds.
The character automatically slides along the path. The player helps it dash upward and forward at the right moment to prevent it from impacting against gradient gray-and-black blocks outlined in blue neon, red-coated triangular spikes and other hard surfaces and sharp objects. They also help prevent it from falling into deadly traps.
In some areas, the character passes through a gate that changes the laws of physics. It floats without gravity. The player must force it to fall rather than jump. If they're off by even a tiny fraction, the character dies. The player must then restart from the beginning on the current level.
Geo Dash gives the player several tools to gauge their distance to the end of a level. The blocks under the yellow shape change color as it slides across them. A yellow trail of color to indicate movement also follows behind it. An empty horizontal bar at the top center of the screen fills up with a glowing green progress color. The end of the bar features a round-cornered block with a white, increasing percentage number.
