Escaping the Prison, sometimes known as Escape From Prison, is a stickman game with a "choose your own adventure" element. The police have arrested and incarcerated Henry Stickman for robbing a bank. They supposedly caught him in the bank vault. He needs the player's help to escape his prison cell by illegal or legal means.
During the opening scenes, Henry receives a cake filled with items that might help him (i.e., a file, a power drink, a teleporter, a rocket launcher, a cellphone and a drill). The player chooses an item and then learns the outcome of that choice through a series of line-drawn animations.
For example, if the player picks the file and removes the bars on the window, Henry escapes but drops far below to the ground like a bag of bricks. In other sequences, the player might direct Henry to fight against the police officers or use buttons that appear suddenly on the screen to perform zigzag running tactics to evade bullets.
Escaping the Prison offers both logic-puzzle and illogical play, which means that the player must constantly expect anything to happen when attempting to help Henry. Their decisions might cause him to return to the beginning and his prison cell or leave him stranded in a place he can never escape.
