Connect Merge is a math-based tile-matching game similar to 2048. On a white 5x5 board with round corners, the game displays numbers inside colored circles. The board shares superficial design similarities with classic BINGO cards. The player's goal is to earn the most points by connecting and merging as many matching numbers, by number and color, to create higher numbers for as long as possible.
Unlike some connect-and-merge games, the player isn't restricted to two matching numbers and circles. They can connect more than two if the numbers are adjacent. As a result, they can connect side-by-side or even diagonal identical numbers.
That said, the game never creates a new number beyond the sum of two of those numbers. If the player connects and merges more than two, they only receive the equivalent of a pair. For example, they only receive a 64 circle if they connect and merge four 32-labeled circles. As a result, it's wise to never merge more than two circles at a time except when trying to clear the board of unwanted numbers.
Connect Merge awards the player with a yellow star when they successfully finish a level. It also rewards points for all merges, especially when the player creates a new number not previously seen on the board. When the player runs out of moves, the game displays a dead smiley emoji that frowns. The player must then start over from Level 1.
