Candy Rain 8 is the eighth installment of the Candy Rain match-3 puzzle series. In a candy and dessert landscape, the player performs various tasks by matching three or more hard and jelly candies on boards across different levels. When they reach their goal, the game declares "Candy Rain!" onscreen. The player also receives coins and up to three stars.
When the player matches four candies on a horizontal or vertical line, they create a Line Blast candy that can remove an entire row or column. They can match two lines that connect at the third candy to create a Cross Blast candy that can remove a row and a column. They can match non-matching Line Blast and Cross Blast candies to remove large swaths of candies in various ways. If they match five candies, they create a Spiral Color Bomb candy that can remove all candies on the board that match the one the player swaps with it.
Candy Rain 8 allows the player to clear away candies in many other ways. They can combine two Spiral Color Bombs, for example, to remove every candy on the board. The game also features a variety of boosters that they can buy with their coins. For example, they can buy a Swap booster to swap two candies or a Hammer booster to break and remove a candy.
The game requires the player to perform other tasks as well. They might need to crush and remove one or more melted layers of chocolate under some candies or break ice to access candies. They can also receive prizes, such as treasure chests filled with coins and boosters.
