Baby Dress Up is a dress-up simulation game. The player is responsible for a virtual baby that acts like a real-life one. It moves its hands, arms, feet and legs. Its mouth moves when presented with a pacifier. It laughs loudly and joyfully when presented with certain toys. It acts delighted at times.
Dressing the infant is only part of the player's responsibility. They must also feed it when a vertical bar on the right side of the screen loses energy and it becomes upset and cries. They can also set a nighttime mode to make it sleep.
The game presents the player with four babies with unique skin tones. On a crib screen, the player can open up categories to dress the baby and alter its surroundings. They can access different types of hair colors and styles, eye colors, stud earrings, pacifiers, sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, underwear, diapers, long-sleeved shirts, long bottoms, costume onesies with animal ears and tails, bootie socks, shoes, rattles, stuffed toys, and resting spots. They must watch advertisements to unlock some of these items.
Baby Dress Up also provides the player with a camera. They can take a snapshot to share with friends or use the pictures as inspiration for outfits for their baby. If they don't have a baby, they might add the images to a book of 5-year-or-longer plans and dreams as inspiration for the future. The game auto-downloads each image.
