Tile Matching is a timed tile-matching game set in a summer garden that features a green grass lawn and flowering bushes. The player must remove a stack of layered white tiles from the playfield before an alarm clock at the top-center of the screen runs out of time. They must perform this task successfully with different tile patterns across 50 levels.
The tiles include common and uncommon items, including anthropomorphic animal faces, various types of foods and household objects. The game enhances play by forcing the player to remove these tiles in sets of three identical tiles. For example, the player might select three chocolate-dipped strawberries, three rainbow-colored, multi-flavor frozen popsicles, three closed, red-covered books or three cow faces.
The player can only remove tiles by arranging them in a set in seven empty spaces below the field. That said, they don't need to manually position and arrange the identical tiles side by side in the empty slots. The game automatically performs this task with matching tiles.
Tile Matching makes it easy for the player to find matching tiles by hiding unavailable ones with shadows. It also focuses a spotlight on available tiles by making them brighter and easier to see against the unavailable ones.
The player can use a double-arrow shuffle button to find additional matching tiles. If they make a mistake, they can undo their last move with a button labeled with a back arrow.
