Slide Puzzle is a block-puzzle game in which the player earns as many points as possible by removing tiles from an 8x10 board. As with other block-puzzle games, the game removes the tiles when the player fills a horizontal row to create a line. The vibrant, jewel-tone tiles burst before disappearing from the board to free up space.
Yet the play is different in several ways. Similar to Tetris, the player slides the tiles left or right into positions on the board. If they position a tile of the correct size above a gap in the horizontal row of tiles below it, the tile drops into the gap. For example, they might drop a square tile into a square gap or a double horizontal tile into a gap made of two squares. As a unique twist, they can slide tiles in any of the stacked rows.
Slide Puzzle offers play similar to bubble-popping fun as well. Sometimes tiles above or below a completed row burst, which earns the player higher points and frees up additional space.
The player must never allow the board to fill up. If the tiles slide up to the top, the game ends.
