Pool Party 3 is a match-3 game with a pool party theme. A friendly rabbit in a water park that features rainbow slides and a river directs the player to complete tasks by matching three or more party balloons and related items like algae on boards in each level. The player must collect a specific number of items before they run out of moves. They also earn up to three stars and unlock boosters in each level.
The rabbit walks the player through various types of play. As with other match-3 games, the player swaps two balloons to complete a horizontal or vertical line of three or matching connected balloons. The game removes the balloons, slides the remaining balloons down the board to fill the gaps, and then fills any new empty areas with new ones.
If the player matches more than three balloons at a time, they create line blast, cross blast and color bomb boosters. A line blast takes out a row or column. A cross blast takes out both a row and a column. A color bomb, when swapped with a balloon, removes all color-matched balloons on the board. The player can combine these boosters to create even more powerful ones. Two color bombs, for example, clear the entire board. The game also offers separate unlockable surprise boosters over time on the right side of the screen.
Pool Party 3 features a tournament mode in which the player must achieve the best score within a specific number of moves. After so many levels, the player can also unlock free gifts.
