Home Makeover: Hidden Object is a puzzle game that merges hidden-object, home renovation and match-3 elements. Emma, a student studying design in college, needs help with a home cleanout and renovation job given to her by her grandparents. The player must find and sell items requested by local community members. They then use the money to renovate rooms and spots on the property. In exchange for their assistance, they also receive useful real-world household cleaning and decorating tips.
The player can perform tasks via standard timed gameplay or a relax mode that removes the timed component. With the timed mode, they receive a limited amount of time, as represented by a vertical gauge next to the left sidebar, to find hidden objects and coins. During match-3 levels, the player must find objects, such as old stamps in the attic, before they run out of energy. That said, they can earn additional energy by matching five items in a row instead of three.
Every item the player finds and sells provides them with a revenue stream. They can also receive money via a multiplier, a daily bonus and a spin wheel. They might need to watch an advertisement to receive these cash rewards.
The player uses their coins to update flooring, wallpaper, windows, furniture, decorations and other items. They must make cautious purchases since they're not permitted to go back and change their mind.
Home Makeover: Hidden Object makes play more challenging in a variety of ways. For example, a customer might demand an object with a silhouette of it or a text description. They might require the player to memorize a list of objects.
