Giant Sushi, also known as Giant Sushi: Merge Master, is a Suika-style merge game that features a sushi theme instead of fruit. It also challenges the player with levels of gameplay and achievement prizes.
The player merges identical pieces of sushi inside a clear container against one of six backgrounds they select using a button on the home screen. The game displays the evolution of the sushi on a right-pointing white arrow below the container. The player's ultimate goal is to create a sushi made of a tail placed on rice. That said, the game doesn't end with this merge outcome. The player keeps playing to earn rewards, merge two of the final biggest pieces, and see what happens after.
Giant Sushi supplies three main boosters. The player receives free access initially and then must claim new ones from gift boxes and by watching videos. An up arrow booster allows the player to level up any piece of sushi without a merge. It's especially helpful if the player struggles with leveling up to the final piece via merges. The X booster removes any sushi that the player selects. The down arrow booster levels down a piece. These two boosters can free up space inside the container to prevent a pile-up and allow identical pieces to touch more easily.
The player must never allow pieces to pile too high within the container. If any piece stacks above a black, dashed horizontal line that appears at the top of the container, the game ends. Otherwise, the player plays for as long as possible through all of the game's levels.
