Find the Difference is a fun "spot the difference" game that tasks a player with finding 10 things that don't match between two nearly identical images across 50 levels. The images depict scenes from all walks of life. The player might explore the African plains, snow-covered mountains, a home, a warehouse, a concert, a city street or a mode of transportation. They might review images of fantasy locations that contain anthropomorphic animals, anime characters or mushroom forests, or science fiction images that contain futuristic robots.
The player only receives three chances, in the form of red hearts, to make mistakes. If they select an area that isn't different, a round red dot with a white X pops up. They also lose a heart. If they select a difference, then a green bubble-style circle appears on the screen. The game requires that they have good vision and the ability to remember details. It can help improve their concentration and memory skills over time.
Find the Difference allows the player to use the zoom in and out options, such as a mouse scroll wheel or hand gestures on a portable device, to check small details. It's important that the player use these tools to enlarge the details because every image possesses at least one difference that's difficult to see.
