DinoMatch: Mahjong Pairs is a timed, connect-style, tile-matching game that primarily features adorable baby dinosaurs on white tiles and a prehistoric jungle background. It also eventually adds other types of tiles, such as construction site tiles.
As with classic Mahjong, the player matches pairs of tiles to remove them from the playfield. They earn coins for their efforts. There's also a racing achievement (Race) in which they compete with other online players to finish 20 levels first to win a trophy. If they complete more than 100 levels, they receive golden medal-and-ribbon awards. The game displays these awards on the home screen.
The player can only remove tiles in DinoMatch: Mahjong Pairs under specific conditions. They must imagine drawing a line between two matching tiles. They can't match tiles that require more than three lines, which means they can only remove side-by-side tiles, tiles on the same edge, and tiles across gaps that take no more than three lines to connect on the playfield.
If they perform this task correctly, they see a golden line connecting the tiles and earn gold stars that later convert into coins. If they attempt to remove a pair that requires four or more lines, a red line appears between the tiles with a warning. The tiles also shuffle in different directions at times to make gameplay harder.
The game features a shuffle button, a hint button and boosters to help the player remove tiles faster before time runs out on the timer bar. It rewards the player with extra coins, shuffles, hints and boosters as a daily bonus as well.
