Catch The Cat is a hide-and-seek, logic-puzzle game with hidden-object, merging and crafting elements. The player must help an in-game character find and catch a missing cat across 20 standard levels in two environments (Nanshan Park and Shopping Street) and three unlockable special levels.
Yet, finding the cat is often not the main challenge. The player must usually also find and use various tools and objects (props), and sometimes merge items to craft new ones, before they can catch the cat. Additionally, the player must take care not to accidentally anger human cat people, bears and other animals in a scene.
The game requires the player to lean heavily on common sense and problem-solving skills. They need to think strategically before taking any action. If they try to catch the cat before they find and use props or craft new ones, they can fail the level. They also fail if they anger anyone.
Catch The Cat offers a four-collection Collection Room for storage of all props. The player can also acquire useful furniture and cat items by buying eggs in a vending machine in the Gift Shop with the coins they earn during play. If they want to increase their coins per level, review tips, or skip a level, they must watch advertisements.
