Balloon Match 3D is a match-3 game with a balloon theme. The player's only goal is to clear each playfield of floating balloons attached to a gift. The player can remove up to seven balloons at any time by sending them to seven empty bubble spaces near the bottom of the playfield. That said, they must coordinate their selections so that they never fill the bubble spaces entirely and run out of moves.
The game only permits the popping of three matching balloons, referred to as tiles in the game, in the bubble slots. When the player selects balloons, they must try to select three of the same color consecutively to maintain open spaces.
When the player removes all balloons, the game assigns stars as points and a bonus of stars based on consecutive removal multipliers and the amount of time left on a countdown clock. After a specific amount of play, the game also rewards the player with treasures in a chest and new tile designs, such as balloons that display smiley faces and country flags.
Balloon Match 3D helps the player make the right selections and pop balloons in a variety of ways. It outlines selected balloons in green. It provides five tools below the bubble spaces over time, including a yellow light bulb tool that removes three matching balloons automatically and a back arrow that reverses the last move.
The player can also rotate the balloons to find matches faster and use boosters to destroy balloons. If they fail, they can also use earned coins or watch ads to continue instead of starting over.
