Pool Master 3D is a logic-puzzle game based on classic pool. Instead of playing pool games, such as billiards or solids and stripes, the player treats a white cue ball more like a mini-golf ball that they must direct down channels and into holes dug out of the top of the two-tone checkboard baize of a pool table. They also use the cue ball to hit and direct other pool-style balls, including the 8 ball, into empty holes.
Every time the player manages to sink all of the balls, they receive coins that they can use to purchase other types of balls. They can unlock and use 18 balls and round objects in total, including a soccer ball, basketball ball, beach ball, globe, yellow smiley face, purple planet with white rings, and yarn ball. The player receives coin multipliers at the end of each level and on the balls screen if they watch advertisements. They can also skip a level with an advertisement.
That said, Pool Master 3D isn't difficult enough to warrant using the skip feature. The player merely needs to direct the balls in the correct directions along straight, curved and overlapping channels and into the holes. On some levels, the color of the baize and balls can make the player's decisions seem more difficult, such as when the player must sink dark blue balls against an only slightly lighter two-tone blue baize. Yet, the game even gives them an Undo button to reposition the balls.
