Volley Random, an arcade sports game that features pixelated graphics, presents one and two players with semi-idle gameplay on two-person teams. The matches occur on indoor and outdoor courts at different times of day and night during various seasons. A player doesn't have to do much except score five times to win.
The player directs a gigantic ball, such as a white or rainbow volleyball, basketball, dodgeball or football, to hit the ground on the opposing team's side of a net that runs through the center of the court. They must make the characters on their team thrust up their arms and bounce up and down on the court. During any match, the characters might have big or small bodies, short or long arms or regular or tiny heads. They might wear uniforms or business suits.
Volley Random presents some challenges. The court features invisible walls that the ball bounces off behind the teams. The net might move up and down during gameplay, which can make the ball bounce around more than with a stationary net. In some matches, a bomb on a timer is the ball. If it counts down to zero before it hits the ground, it blows the heads off of anyone on its side of the net.
