TileMan.io is a multiplayer snake game with battle arena, strategy and war elements. The player receives a small territory of tiles that match the color of an avatar dot. They direct the dot to traverse non-matching tiles on a grid that surrounds their territory. The dot leaves a color-matched snake-style line behind it. The player must direct it to take a circuitous route back to their territory to create an enclosed square that forces the tiles inside the shape to transform to match the color of their territory. To win the game, they must expand their territory more than anyone else and never allow their opponents to capture their territory or destroy their snake.
The player selects the Classic, Extreme Speed, No Kills, Rats or Arena mode. After they enter a nickname, they face the grid with their territory in immediate view. They can attempt to transform gray tiles or overtake the territories and colored tiles of other players. They must direct their dot avatar to never hit another player's snake line, their own line or the arena walls. They must also watch out for other users who might try to surround them on all sides and make it impossible for them to return to their territory before the game ends their play for not performing expansion quickly enough.
TileMan.io displays the stats for the player's score, tiles, kills and rank near the bottom-left corner at all times. The player can check if they rank within the top 10 at any time near the upper-right corner. With some modes, they can track their progress via a mini-map in the upper half of the screen.
