Solitaire 2048 is a card game that combines solitaire play with 2048 merge rules. The player earns points by merging pairs of identical cards in columns built from four empty cells at the top of a white playfield. They continue as long as they want and level up until they run out of moves. They then restart and attempt to beat their last score, which the game displays next to a black trophy at the upper-left corner.
The player can't transfer cards between columns. Instead, they retrieve cards from a draw area. They then attempt to place the cards in descending order. For example, if they place a 2 draw card on an empty cell, merge it with a 2 card and then place two more 2 cards or a 4 card to create an 8 card, they need to place an identical 8 card or merge low-numbered cards to create a second 8 card. The two 8 cards form a 16 card.
If they place a high-numbered card atop a low-numbered one, they block a section of the column, as seen if they place a 4 card atop the first 8 card, followed by an 8 draw card. The only way to clear a block to start a new build is with a bomb booster card that takes out the entire column.
Solitaire 2048 unlocks point multipliers and booster cards after the player levels up. The player tracks their progress to the next level via a horizontal red bar. The game also features a rainbow-colored wild card that merges with any card. Lastly, the player can discard two draw cards.
