Hyper Snake is a brick-breaking, dash-style skill game with a slither-snake element. The player attempts to break numbered bricks and collect stars with a snake made of five white balls. Every time they hit a round-cornered square brick, they lose one or more balls based on the number on the brick. They must collect additional balls rapidly to prevent their snake from disappearing while slithering up the track.
The player doesn't receive any warning about the number of bricks on the track in front of the snake or the numbers displayed on the bricks. They must make rapid decisions and precise maneuvers to collect stars and additional balls and prevent the snake from hitting bricks that have numbers higher than the number of balls.
Hyper Snake allows the player to navigate around high-numbered bricks. That said, the player only earns points, which the game displays at the top center of the screen, when they use the snake to break bricks. They earn the number on each broken brick as points added to their score.
When the player inevitably loses the game, their goal is to attempt to beat their last score. When they lose again, they attempt to beat their last-best one.
The game also has a shop accessible via a round orange button marked with a shopping cart icon. The player uses stars to unlock new ball designs.
