Go Up Dash is a Geometry Dash racing game. Unlike previous installments in the series, Go Up Dash doesn't use traditional side-scrolling mechanics. Instead, the player must direct an anthropomorphic square or other geometric shape through a narrow tunnel that runs vertically up the screen, or up-scrolling, rather than from side to side. They must also direct the shape away from threats such as short and long strips of spikes, arrowhead-style projectiles that drop off of the walls, stacked geometric shapes and other objects.
The game presents the player with a home screen that features three options. They can change their dash avatar using the leftmost button to access a screen of free custom selection options. In a pleasant way, the game doesn't charge anything or force the player to watch ads to select a different avatar. They can select classic Geometry Dash characters or even the masked faces of superheroes.
Go Up Dash then displays options to access levels. They must play the first level to unlock the next one. After they make their selection, they're presented with a neon green race tunnel that is essentially made of two vertical lines representing walls and the space between. Once the dash starts, the player must then reposition the character rapidly and repeatedly so that it doesn't slide into threats.
The player must successfully direct the character to the end of the level. If they're not precise with their hand-eye coordination and the rhythm and timing of the character's positional switches, the character hits an obstacle, and the level resets to the beginning.
