Dot Link is a connect-style, drawing-puzzle game presented on grids of different sizes across hundreds of levels. The player's only goal is to prove their skills at connecting objects by drawing lines on empty spaces between pairs of round-cornered colored squares. Unlike many similar games, they don't need to succeed in a level to unlock the next one. They can select any level across the game's two main modes.
The player can select a Basic or Specialty mode. Each mode features bundles of puzzles with between 50 and 200 levels per bundle. With the Basic mode, the player tackles puzzles across Beginner, Easy Peasy, Not So Bad, Challenging, Pretty Hard, Very Difficult and Impossible bundles. With the Specialty mode, they can choose Starter, Bonus and Premium bundles of levels under the Blockers category and Starter and Bonus bundles of levels under the Shapes category. The Specialty bundles present black blocks that block certain paths and grid outlines with borders of different shapes, respectively.
Dot Link doesn't lock any levels. The player can select any level that features a blue play arrow. The game only requires the player to connect shapes without crossing one colored line over another. If the player attempts to cross an existing line, the game breaks the line. The player must then attempt to draw the lines via different routes. The game helps them with undo, reset and hint options.
If the player completes a certain number of levels, they win a gift. They also win a single gold star at the end of every level.
