Bubble: Pop Balloons is a bubble-popping game that features tile-matching elements found in fan-favorite games like Melodic Tiles, Halloween Monster Puzzle, Sea Diamonds Challenge and Tiles of the Simpsons. It also offers a player soothing, peaceful gameplay through popping sounds that are similar to Pop-It games.
Unlike the former play opportunities, the player's goal isn't to remove all tiles before they run out of moves. Instead, they merely attempt to beat their last-base score.
The game presents 180 dark-colored, button-style bubbles, or balloons, on rounded squares on a grid with 10 rows across 18 columns against a gradient white and blue background. The player must align two or more balloons horizontally or vertically to pop the pieces and remove each one and the background squares from the playfield.
When the pieces disappear, any remaining ones above the removal spot drop down the column into the gaps. If the player removes an entire column, the rest of the columns to the right of it slide left.
The most unique aspect of Bubble: Pop Balloons is that it doesn't allow the player to ever reach a blank background. Any time the columns move left, a new column appears from beyond the playfield on the right side of the grid. The player simply continues to remove the groups of matching pieces until no side-by-side or stacked matching ones remain.
