Audrey's Trendy College Room is a room remodeling and renovation game. College student Audrey realizes her room is a mess! She needs the player's help to clean, perform repairs, and update the look of the room.
The game doesn't use toolbars for the cleaning tools or require the player to physically swipe using an input device. Audrey shows the tool in her hands. The game also points out the areas to clean. The player starts by sucking up dust with a vacuum. They must then remove cobwebs with a duster, throw away crumpled paper and broken bottles, and repair tears in the wallpaper with a hammer.
After they clean up the space, they can decorate manually or allow the game to select options. With the manual mode, they use a category button and manual color and pattern options to select new furniture, accessories and colors. This mode also allows some random selections by the game if the player selects a rainbow-colored button. With the fully automatic mode, the player can select a die labeled with question marks to prompt the game to randomly generate everything, including new wallpaper, bed linens, toys and a color and pattern scheme.
Audrey's Trendy College Room helps the player by showing the types of changes that Audrey likes and dislikes. If the player makes a change that she likes, she makes a heart sign with her hands, and hearts appear onscreen inside of bubbles. If Audrey doesn't like a change, she gives a double thumbs-down motion.
