My New Room is a room remodeling and renovation game. The player helps a girl update a room that's near a pretty outdoor summer garden. The game features no timer, buying system or other goals.
The player doesn't merely select new furniture and decorations. They renovate everything. They receive access to items and tools via a vertical sidebar to the right of the room and a horizontal bar below it.
With the right sidebar, the player can select new structural items, such as windows, doors, carpeting or flooring, solid wall colors and wallpaper. They can also access beds, couches tables and other furniture; lamps, paintings, fireplaces and other decorative items; laptops, flat-screen TVs and other electronics; teddy bears, guitars, cocktails, hot tubs and other unique items; and cats, puppies, hamsters and other pets.
Below the category buttons, they can access a tool that allows them to paint items with main and accent colors. They can also draw on the walls. The horizontal buttons allow them to move and rotate items, place one item on top of or under another, and trash items. There's even a crystal ball button that the player can use to prompt a wizard to provide a room assessment.
My New Room offers the player two sharing options. They can print or download the final look of the room. They can also print the room as a line-drawing coloring sheet.
