Match Triple 3D is a three-dimensional match-3 game. It requires a player to select and remove floating objects from a gradient blue playfield. The player receives seven empty spaces near the bottom of the field. They must match three objects at a time to both remove the objects from the field and the level. This action also frees up spaces.
The player can only select highlighted objects floating in a layer above other objects slightly hidden in shadows. Common objects include beach balls, soccer balls, ring donuts with pink icing, grinning Jack-o-lanterns, potted cacti and stuffed unicorn toys. The player can see the outlines of the hidden objects behind the highlighted ones. As a result, they can strategically remove highlighted objects to reveal the other ones.
When the player selects an object, it fills the leftmost open, empty space. If they select matching objects out of order, the game doesn't penalize them. Instead, it shifts non-matching objects out of the way to create match-3 outcomes.
Match Triple 3D rewards the player with coins at the end of each level and via daily rewards and ad video viewership. The player can use the money to buy helpful tools (i.e., a hint tool that removes three matching highlighted or hidden items at one time, a revert tool that acts like an undo the last move button, and a shuffle tool that rearranges the objects to make matches easier).
The game makes play more difficult over time by increasing the number of objects, layers and distribution patterns.
