Brawl Hero is a battle-arena fighting game that features levels play, and arcade and quest elements. On green checkerboard battlefields, the player directs a superhero avatar into positions that prompt it to throw red balls similar to classic dodge balls at a variety of enemies. The game features a selection of heroes that the player can access over time in card format by opening loot boxes.
On the home screen, the player can register an account or play as a visitor. They can watch ads to earn coins, review a leaderboard, play 24-hour reset minigames, upgrade their superhero's abilities with coins, claim achievement and daily coin rewards, and check out their collection of hero cards. Additionally, they can complete quests in different regions, including a forest, a quarry and gem mines, to earn useful materials.
Brawl Hero's main play takes place on the battlefields. The player directs their hero out of the way to dodge enemy projectiles and then positions it to stand still to initiate the game's auto-attack feature. The game often hints at when the player should direct their hero to hide behind an object, such as turning on a red laser guideline just before a robot fires lasers.
Every kill earns the player gems and coins that they auto-collect at the end of a battle. The player can also collect starter packs filled with treasures by watching ads.
